Duty-free electric vehicles in Kyrgyzstan cannot be resold abroad

Electric vehicles imported into Kyrgyzstan under a duty-free quota are not subject to resale or re-export to other EAEU countries. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce Sultan Akhmatov made this statement at a press conference.

The additional quota of 10,000 vehicles approved by the Eurasian Economic Commission has been allocated exclusively to meet domestic demand and is not distributed among major importers. Any citizen of Kyrgyzstan will be able to use the right to duty-free import on a first-come, first-served basis according to the order of customs registration.

Removing a vehicle from registration for resale outside the republic will be impossible without paying the full customs tariff of 15%, Akhmatov emphasized.

According to the ministry, approximately 500 electric vehicles are currently stored in temporary storage warehouses; the State Customs Service maintains the records.
