German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius has arrived in Kyiv for talks on joint weapons production and expanding defense cooperation.
The main focus will be on new drone programs and boosting defense aid. The visit is unannounced and signals an intensification of the German-Ukrainian defense-industrial partnership.
This is the first official visit by a senior German official to Kyiv in several months.
German Defence Minister Pistorius arrived in Kyiv to discuss joint weapons production, including unmanned aerial vehicles and development of Ukrainian defence industry through the Brave One platform to attract investment.
The expansion of German-Ukrainian military-technical partnership means that Ukraine will be able to independently produce weapons instead of full dependence on imports, which will increase the resilience of its defence in the long term. New contracts and markets in the Ukrainian defence sector are opening up for German companies.
