The United States brokered a 45-day extension of the ceasefire between Israel and Lebanon beginning Sunday, the US State Department announced.
The extension was reached following high-level negotiations in Washington. State Department spokesperson Tommy Pigott said the agreement will allow both parties to continue talks toward a long-term settlement.
