The Government of Japan will provide Kyrgyzstan with grant assistance totaling up to 430 million yen for the purchase of medical equipment. Documents were signed on October 23: Ambassador Ryuichi Hirano representing Japan, and Finance Minister Ruslan Suinaliiev representing Kyrgyzstan. A separate grant agreement was signed by Kotaro Nishigata, resident representative of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Kyrgyzstan, and the Finance Ministry head.

The funds are allocated under the "Equipment Provision Project for Rehabilitation" within the Economic and Social Development Program. Kyrgyzstan will receive Japanese-made medical equipment, including a computed tomography scanner and rehabilitation walking training devices.

The project places special emphasis on patients with cardiovascular diseases and stroke survivors who require recovery of physical functions. The Embassy of Japan noted that the project aligns with Japan's priority assistance direction for Kyrgyzstan—the improvement of public and social services—and with the human potential development agenda enshrined in the Tokyo Declaration following the first summit of the "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue in December 2024.
