Ankara Western Chief Prosecutor's Office: Etimesgut Mayor Beşikçioğlu Tests Positive for Drugs

The Etimesgut Municipality investigation has deepened; analysis of blood, urine, and hair samples taken from detained Mayor Erdal Beşikçioğlu as part of the prosecution led by the Ankara Western Chief Prosecutor's Office returned positive results. The biological sampling process, initiated following reports, also encompasses the deputy mayor.

YENİ Party Group Vice Chairman Gökhan Günaydın said in a statement on Onlar TV, "The man is using drugs; the mayor is using, the deputy mayor is using. How are you performing public service?" Günaydın emphasized that the matter cannot be evaluated within the boundaries of private life: "If you enter politics, politics has its conditions."

Beşikçioğlu has remained in detention since the beginning of the investigation. The Ankara Western Chief Prosecutor's Office had previously used the biometric evidence method in similar investigations into former municipality mayors.
