CHP Deputy Dikbayır: 'I would not have joined the CHP if Kılıçdaroğlu were leading the party'

CHP Sakarya Deputy Ümit Dikbayır said of Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who returned to the party chairmanship by court order, 'I would not have joined the CHP if he were leading the party.' According to a report by Cumhuriyet Gazette, Dikbayır's statement directly criticized the process in which the Ankara Regional Courthouse's 36th Civil Chamber annulled the 38th Ordinary Congress and subsequently Kılıçdaroğlu resumed office.

Dikbayır, who ran in the general chairmanship race at the congress election and lost, is among the most outspoken figures in the contentious internal party process. The deputy's statements coincide with a period in which internal tensions at the CHP have escalated, alongside the appointment of trustees and changes in control of provincial organization social media accounts.

No official response has yet come from the Kılıçdaroğlu camp to Dikbayır's statements.
