Drone strike kills two in Voronezh; train derailment leaves seven fuel tankers burning in Sverdlovsk
Voronezh Region Governor Alexander Gusev confirmed two dead and 17 injured, including one child, after a night drone attack on the Russian city.

A drone attack killed two people and wounded 17 others in Voronezh, Russia, with one child among the injured and two people in serious condition, Voronezh Region Governor Alexander Gusev said.
The two men killed were born in 1960 and 1973, Gusev said. A significant number of those injured were travelling on a train passing through the area at the time of the attack.
The independent Russian outlet Astra reported that a drone struck the Chizhova Gallery business centre, a prominent 25-story landmark at 35A Koltsovskaya Street. Astra's open-source analysis identified further impact sites, including a residential complex at 4K Arkhitektora Troitskogo Street and the recently completed Uritsky residential complex at 135 Uritskogo Street. At least 10 cars were on fire in a parking area at 275/1 45-y Strelkovoy Divizii Street, the outlet reported.
Astra said a drone threat was declared in the region at around 3:00 am, followed by a missile threat approximately two hours later. Residents told the outlet they heard explosions but that no air-raid sirens had sounded.
A monitoring channel cited in the wire suggested the Voronezhsintezkauchuk synthetic rubber plant, part of petrochemical group SIBUR, and the Voronezh Aircraft Joint-Stock Company (VASO), which participates in Il-96 production, may also have been targeted. Those claims have not been independently verified.
Separately, a train derailment in Sverdlovsk Region left seven fuel tankers burning. Twenty rail cars derailed in the incident.
