The mobile system offset a 3.97 TL petrol discount created in the market through automatic excise tax adjustment; drivers saved zero at the pump.

A 3.97 TL petrol discount that should have reflected crude oil's decline at the pump was completely offset by an automatic Special Consumption Tax (SCT) adjustment under the mobile system. Fuel stations saw no price changes on Wednesday.
The mobile system is a mechanism that automatically increases SCT when crude oil prices fall, keeping pump prices stable. The system last activated in the same way in April 2025; at that time too, the expected discount did not reach drivers.
For a vehicle owner making a daily round trip between Şişli and Kadıköy, a 3.97 TL discount would mean approximately 200 TL in monthly savings. Current pump prices in the three major cities remained unchanged. The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) made no additional statement on the matter.
