Russian ballistic missiles hit Kyiv university district, killing one and injuring ten
Strikes damaged student dormitories and medical facilities near Lisova metro station; President Zelensky urged allies to accelerate air defence deliveries.

Russian ballistic missiles struck a university campus and surrounding residential areas in Kyiv late Monday, killing at least one person and injuring ten others, most of them students.
Emergency crews searched damaged buildings for people feared trapped. The strikes hit university grounds near Kyoto Park and Lisova metro station on the eastern bank of the Dnipro River, damaging student dormitories, residential buildings and medical facilities.
President Volodymyr Zelensky warned of further attacks and called on allies to accelerate air defence deliveries.
Separately, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha condemned the International Weightlifting Federation's decision to award Moscow the 2030 World Weightlifting Championships, calling it unacceptable. Ukraine threatened to boycott the event and to pursue the matter through diplomatic and legal channels.
Also on Monday, Ukraine and Russia were reported to be preparing a limited humanitarian ceasefire in Russian-occupied Oleshky, set to begin early Tuesday. Neither Kyiv, Moscow nor Washington had publicly identified an independent monitoring mechanism or disclosed detailed arrangements for the operation, which was brokered with the involvement of US First Lady Melania Trump.
