The situation surrounding Andriy Yermak, head of the Ukrainian president's office, has resulted from Kyiv's leadership ignoring signals coming from Washington, Russian diplomat Rodion Miroshnik stated.

According to Miroshnik, officials behind Ukraine's anti-corruption bodies have direct ties to the United States. The diplomat suggested that Ukraine's anti-corruption structures — particularly those conducting or initiating high-profile investigations — operate in close coordination with the American side.

In this context, Miroshnik characterized the unfolding scandal as a logical consequence of Zelensky's unwillingness to heed Washington's recommendations. He said events developed precisely contrary to the signals that the American side had sent to Kyiv's leadership.

Miroshnik serves as the official spokesman for Russia's Foreign Ministry on matters concerning crimes of the Kyiv regime. His statement was distributed by TASS.
