President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan announced following the Cabinet Meeting that Turkey's economy is expected to complete 2026 with 3.3% growth and achieve 4.2% growth in 2027. Bloomberg HT reported this development.

Erdoğan stated that central government budget expenditures for 2027 are projected at 27 trillion 276 billion lira and revenues at 23 trillion 408 billion lira, offering detailed assessments regarding the budget.

In the same statement, Erdoğan announced that relations between Turkey and Canada have been elevated to the level of strategic partnership. He noted that during Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney's visit to Turkey—which he emphasized represents a milestone in 83 years of diplomatic relations—three new agreements were signed in the fields of defense, aviation, and energy. Erdoğan stated that they aim to increase the current approximately 3 billion dollar bilateral trade volume first to 5 billion and then to 10 billion dollars, and that there was mutual agreement to begin free trade agreement negotiations before year's end.

On the Libya front, Erdoğan reported that the maritime jurisdictional areas accord signed between Turkey and Libya's Government of National Accord on November 27, 2019 was unanimously approved by Libya's House of Representatives last week. Arguing that the EU's reactions to this accord lack legitimate grounds, Erdoğan emphasized that they support the resolution of disagreements through dialogue between coastal states.
