Istanbul gendarmerie arrested 2 suspects in a comprehensive operation targeting drug manufacturers.

In a comprehensive operation conducted by gendarmerie teams in Istanbul targeting drug manufacturers, 257,850 narcotic pills were seized. Two suspects arrested in the operation were remanded in custody by the court and sent to prison.
The operation, conducted under the coordination of the Gaziosmanpaşa Chief Prosecutor's Office, involved teams from the General Command of Gendarmerie's Narcotics Crime Combat Department and the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie Command. According to a statement shared with the public by the Ministry of Interior through Anadolu Agency, the suspects were found to be engaged in drug distribution and trafficking activities in addition to manufacturing.
The operation stands out as one of the largest-volume drug raids in Istanbul's recent anti-smuggling efforts. Authorities emphasized that inspections and operations in the narcotics field will continue with determination.
