TEKNOFEST unmanned ground vehicle competition concludes in Mardin; 30 finalist teams took on the course

The TEKNOFEST Southeast Unmanned Ground Vehicle Competition at Mardin's Artuklu Fairground wrapped up on Saturday. Organized under ASELSAN's management and the auspices of the Mardin Governorate, the event — which opened on September 9 — brought together 30 finalist teams comprising 410 students from across the country to compete on a demanding course.

According to Anadolu Agency, two special awards were handed out: the Teknomer Ground Guardian team from Gazi University took the "best team spirit" prize, while the Capsule Raclab Rover team from Konya Technical University claimed "best design." Podium finishers will be announced at the TEKNOFEST Southeast closing ceremony in Şanlıurfa.

Mardin Governor Tuncay Akkoyun, speaking at the closing ceremony, said the historic city was proud to host a technology competition for the country's young talent.

It marks the first time Mardin has hosted the event; in previous years, TEKNOFEST Southeast stages were centered in Gaziantep.
