319 suspects arrested in cybercrime crackdown

The Directorate General of Security conducted simultaneous operations across 64 provinces of Turkey within the last five days as part of its fight against cybercrime. A total of 1,021 suspects were detained during the operations, and following legal proceedings, 319 of them were arrested.

Cybercrime units operating under the Directorate General of Security have significantly intensified their monitoring and investigation activities targeting crimes committed in the digital sphere in recent times. The wide-ranging operations, which span multiple provinces, are assessed to have targeted organized cybercriminal networks operating across several cities.

Cybercrime—including fraud, identity theft, and illegal digital activities—has become an increasingly growing security problem in Turkey. Security officials emphasize that they will maintain the continuity of operations in this field and that the fight against digital crimes will be pursued with determination.
