Turkish newspaper Sözcü has revealed that a man named Melih Göğübakan was arrested in the United States after being accused of defrauding Turkish citizens seeking U.S. E-2 investment visas.

According to the newspaper, Göğübakan presented himself as an employee of Trump Media and a media adviser to Trump, using photographs with Turkish politicians — including one with Süleyman Soylu — as well as documents bearing U.S. Congressional seals, to gain the trust of his victims.

Victims reported paying $3,000 each through a lawyer named "Martin," with visa applications never actually filed. The full number of victims has yet to be determined, and those affected have announced their intention to file formal complaints in Turkey as well.
