From Wednesday 11 p.m. to Thursday 7 p.m., hundreds of neighborhoods including Arnavutköy, Esenyurt, and Avcılar will be without water.

The Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (İSKİ) will cut water supply to certain neighborhoods in Arnavutköy, Büyükçekmece, Çatalca, Eyüpsultan, Avcılar, Başakşehir, and Esenyurt districts from Wednesday, August 5, 2026 at 11 p.m. to Thursday, August 6 at 7 p.m. due to main pipeline maintenance.
Esenyurt will experience the widest impact: 27 neighborhoods including Koza, Orhan Gazi, Saadetdere, Sultaniye, and Merkez will be affected by the cut. In Avcılar, the neighborhoods of Mustafa Kemal Paşa, Üniversite, and Firuzköy are on the list; in Başakşehir, Bahçeşehir 1st and 2nd sections are also included.
İSKİ implemented a cut on the same pipeline last August as well; that cut lasted 14 hours. This time the duration extends to 20 hours. According to information, İSKİ advised affected residents to store water in advance.
İSKİ will implement a 20-hour water cut in seven districts including Esenyurt on 5-6 August for main transmission line maintenance in Arnavutköy, Büyükçekmece, Çatalca, Eyüpsultan, Avcılar, Başakşehir and Esenyurt. A total of 27 neighbourhoods in Esenyurt will be most affected by the cut-off.
Residents in the affected neighbourhoods will be unable to use water from Wednesday 23.00 to Thursday 19.00, so they need to store water in advance. It is important to prepare as the cut duration is nearly 1.5 times longer than the 14-hour cut implemented last year.
