The National Chess Academy has opened in Bishkek. Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Adylbek Kasymaliiev attended the ceremony and reviewed the conditions created for the training and coaching of young chess players.

The Academy was established in accordance with two presidential decrees from Sadyr Japarov — "On Urgent Measures for the Development and Promotion of Chess in the Kyrgyz Republic for 2026–2030" and "On the National Chess Academy under the Kyrgyz Chess Federation." Its objectives are systematic preparation of international-level chess players and the identification and support of talented youth.

Kasymaliiev spoke with parents of students and emphasized that the presidential decrees have given new momentum to chess development in the country. In parallel, a pilot project called "Chess in Schools" is being implemented in 500 schools across Kyrgyzstan for students in grades 3–5.
