Uzbekistan Represented at BRICS Summit in New Delhi at Vice-Premier Level

Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance Jamshid Kuchkarov arrived in New Delhi to participate in the 18th BRICS summit, Indian media reported.

The summit is taking place September 12–13 at the Bharat Mandapam congress centre under India's chairmanship — the fourth in the group's history (India previously chaired in 2012, 2016, and 2021). The forum's theme is "Strengthening Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Stability"; this year BRICS is marking its 20th anniversary.

The summit is attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping, and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa. Brazil is represented by Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira.

The September 12 programme includes a closed-door session, bilateral meetings, a visit to the Bharat Innovates exhibition, and an official reception hosted by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. September 13 is scheduled for an expanded session in the outreach and "BRICS Plus" format with participation of partner states.
