Prime Minister Adylbek Kassymaliev visited the Kasiet worsted-spinning mill in the city of Tokmok during an official trip to Chuy Region and reviewed its current state, according to Kabar.

The mill was founded in 1971 and put into operation in 1977. Its design capacity is 1,500 tonnes of yarn per year, but it currently produces only 75 tonnes. The enterprise occupies 17.06 hectares and employs 450 workers. Kassymaliev toured the mixing, carding, combing, dyeing, roving, spinning, twisting, winding, and packaging workshops, equipped with modern Italian machinery by manufacturers Savio, Temateco, and Mezzera.

The National Investment Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic presented the cabinet head with a three-stage "Wool Cluster Development Strategy."

The first stage covers small and medium-sized business: 27 projects have already been implemented, grants and concessional financing totaling 57.5 million soms have been issued, over 100 local jobs have been created, and more than 1,000 farmers have been attracted with guaranteed sales.

The second stage involves construction of a wool primary processing facility in Tokmok using technology from New Zealand company TecNZ — sorting, loosening, washing, and drying. The project cost is 728.2 million soms; 205 jobs will be created. Capacity is 2,176 tonnes of wool washing per year with 95% water recirculation and production of 98 tonnes of pure lanolin annually.

The third stage is the restart of Kasiet itself with a complete production cycle: tops, worsted yarn, suit and overcoat fabrics. Capacity is 1,440 tonnes of deep processing per year, with added value increasing by 5–7 times.

Kassymaliev noted that deep processing of domestic raw materials and creation of added value have strategic importance for the country's industrialization, and instructed relevant agencies to ensure timely implementation of projects and bring the Kasiet mill to full capacity.
