Japarov in Toguz-Toro: 912 MW cascade hydropower and billion-som infrastructure package
The president reviewed existing and prospective projects in the district — from hydroelectric power generation to drinking water supply for Kazarman.
Kyrgyzstan's President Sadyr Japarov, during a working visit to Toguz-Toro district in Jalal-Abad region on October 26, reviewed the district's infrastructure projects — both those already under implementation and those requiring additional financing.
Among operational facilities is the construction of the Kazarman hydropower cascade, which will include three hydroelectric stations with a combined design capacity of 912 MW.
District authorities presented the president with a package of prospective projects. Construction of a bus station in Kazarman village is estimated at 110 million soms. A municipal livestock market in Kargalykskoye rural district along the alternative North-South road will require approximately 50 million soms.
The largest investments are provided for irrigation. The "Kara-Talaa" canal, valued at approximately 400 million soms, will ensure irrigation of 800 hectares of land. The "Ak-Kup" canal is being implemented in two stages: the first — 440 million soms, the second — 560 million soms; upon completion, both stages will allow irrigation of 2,456 hectares. Providing Kazarman with drinking water and restoring the wastewater system is preliminarily estimated at 300 million soms.
All prospective projects require attracting additional financing.
