According to TRT Haber, Mustafa Günay, the CHP mayor of the Güzelbahçe district in Izmir, was detained and subsequently formally arrested in connection with a bribery investigation. Also arrested in the same investigation was Özgür Bayraktar, the Urban Planning and Development Director of Güzelbahçe Municipality.
