Mirziyoyev Proposes Joint Production with South Korea in AI, Semiconductors, and Electric Vehicles
In an interview with The Chosun Daily, Uzbekistan's president called potential cooperation a 'new Silk Road' and invited Korean businesses to establish production facilities in Tashkent.

Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev has proposed a new format of cooperation with South Korea, encompassing advanced technologies, production chains, digital infrastructure, as well as transport and energy corridors. He made this announcement in an interview with South Korean newspaper The Chosun Daily.
Mirziyoyev identified specific sectors for joint development: artificial intelligence, semiconductors, electric vehicles, biopharmaceuticals, and smart agriculture. In his assessment, combining South Korea's technological potential with Uzbekistan's resource and economic capabilities can create new growth points.
Tashkent is ready to support Korean companies in establishing modern production centers on Uzbekistan's territory — from component procurement to finished product manufacturing, the president emphasized. Uzbekistan is seeking deeper integration into global value chains, while South Korea is interested in diversifying its supply chains.
Mirziyoyev compared the promising cooperation between the two countries to the formation of a 'new Silk Road.'
